PROJECT #1: JUAN PABLO TORRES

PROJECT 1 REFLECTION

From the start, i was lost on what i was even doing, my inspirations were mostly ancient Egyptian sources, and a few random images i found interesting. First few i found from an ancient inventions book a classmate let me borrow, the rest i found on the online library. I tried to give a crazy look to them since what I'm mostly inspired by is psychedelic work. Overall i thought this was an interesting project, i enjoy creating abstract art, but never had i thought of implementing several different principles or even putting a book together out of drawings. I was confused on what i was doing but as i progressed with some of the sketches i started getting more motivated which later sparked some creativity in me. I wanted to have plenty detail, and give them a trippy tone. I feel like i accomplished my goal for the most part. It was definitely a challenge because from the beginning i was procrastinating and was out of orbit with my compositions. To start with, i had less than 25, i later had to come up with different designs, same went with my sketches, i just kept creating in search of finding what i was looking for. This project really tested my time management skills which i lacked, definitely lost sleep due to it, I'd say i did them in about 2 rushed nights, which proves that i need to stay more focused for future projects. In conclusion I'm content with what i achieved, and felt like it has pushed me to other levels of creativity as well.
